The Cycles of Innovation
While enjoying the warm waters of the west shore of Oahu, I began thinking about my journey and all of the factors that contributed to who I am today and the expression of that through my being. Cycles of innovation occur as a result of awareness of a new possibility and integration and synthesis of all that has been experienced and learned.
Our model of the cycles of innovation looks like this:
1. Who you are
I came to my current state of being in a rather organized, logical way when I view the journey retrospectively. As a corporate coach, I was earning significant money and was not fulfilled or satisfied.
2. Your life experiences and learning, including your turning points.
After the death of my husband Peter, I knew I could not continue to do the work I had been doing. I loved coaching, I did not love the way I was coaching.
3. How have you been expressing yourself-what have you been doing?
When I began working with the WaveMaker, I threw out coaching and embraced the WaveMaker and Human Software Engineering as an isolated solution.
4. What is new? Understanding, awareness and tools?
I developed the first mentoring program for WaveMaker owners and taught others how to work with these tools. Although I loved teaching and mentoring, it became apparent to me something was missing. I had thrown out the baby with the bath water!
5. Merging of the old with the new, Synthesis
When I began integrating the coaching tools I had learned from Thomas Leonard, of Coach University and others in my work with clients, I noticed the clients had more of an interest in an ongoing coaching relationship. The other thing that happened was that my overall level of enjoyment increased.
6. Upgrade and improve new understandings, go within as this is an inside job!
The success rate of the individuals who embraced WaveMaker Coaching as a profession yielded some disappointing results. It seemed very few were successful in the way they desired to be. This awareness caused me to begin asking the question. Why?
Then I noticed something. The people who described themselves as successful with this work were those who were already coaches or practitioners and had integrated this into an existing business or structure.
7. Further synthesis, Innovation
I sensed what was needed was the creation of a structure that would support the development of a community and enable success. It was not enough to just debug something and call it good. What was and is needed is the whole idea of creating supportive environments. There were, as the Hawaiians say, at least three pukas (holes, remember Puka shells?). Soon the Rockit Evolution Group was birthed with a vision of eliminating the pukas both for WaveMaker owners and others who wished to make a difference.
The PUKAS
The first puka:
If one became a WaveMaker Coach and had never been a coach it is likely they would not know how to coach. The WaveMaker and the protocol that is taught are good tools for the coach’s toolbox and are not a stand alone coaching product. They are simply tools. This awareness caused us to develop our advanced program as a way to bridge the gap for those who have not received formal training as a coach.
The second puka:
Successful coaches everywhere have a structure for their success. This structure is often client coaching programs. Their coaching tools are packaged in a way that is meaningful for them and for others. These packages are effective ways to engage clients in a program that offers them the results they desire and creates a long term relationship. The use of benchmarks provides the client with an awareness of how they have changed over the course of the program. For the coach or practitioner it reduces churn. Happy clients lead to word of mouth referrals and more happy clients! This awareness resulted in the launch of our first client coaching program, Bring It ON!, for WaveMaker owners and others. Our second program, Activating your Genius is being co-facilitated by Antonia Damiani and Karen Vizer and launches in July.
The third puka:
Co-creation and collaboration activate and enable success and a dynamic community sustains it. Rockit Evolution Group was created out of a desire to support others in bringing forth their talent and developing mastery. We know one of the basics of universal law is to desire more for others than you do for yourself.
We co-created our Addictions and Coaching tele-class series with Dr. Michael Nunnally, a generous, gifted teacher and addictionologist. We are half way through our first program and will begin our Addictions and Nutrition Program in August.
And so it goes, this cycle of innovation. I no longer use the WaveMaker as I once did. We have now learned to shift thoughts and energy patterns without it and have deepened our understanding of the nature of conditioning in a way that allows us to get to the root cause more quickly, efficiently and painlessly. We begin teaching Thought Shifting™ this summer as another Beta opportunity for our growing community.
8. Connection
Inherent in the theme of Rockit is the commitment to creating community and connection. We are building a community of like minded individuals who respect and honor the contributions of others. It is in this connection that we will all unleash our greatness!
